  We had a bad experience using this company for an appraisal during a refinance. We didn't have a choice, they were picked by the lender. I reviewed the appraisal to better understand why the value appeared lower than expected. For starters they short changed us 200 square feet of living space. When I questioned the appraiser after the fact he blamed the use of some electronic measuring device he was using. Of course that didn't help when he was picking out the comparable houses either, he often picked houses that were much older, which lead to lower values and at the same time passed over houses that were more likely to be true comparable. I questioned him about this and he blamed the underwriters. When he was doing the appraisal we discussed the many upgrades that have been completed to our during the 3 years we have owned it. Those upgrades which include new driveway, furnace, ac, windows, insulation, flooring and complete gutting of our family room add up to close to $20,000 of improvements. Clearly those things don't make a difference and on top of it our house still dropped $30k. When I disputed this, all he did was send me back to the lender. I strongly recommend going elsewhere.

  Appraised my home for 1G less than the neighbor sold his home one year earlier. The neighbor did not have an insulated garage with 220 electric and natural gas supplied, a finished basement with a bar, hard wood floors, 10x15 shed with concrete and roll up door, two apple trees, beautifully landscaped yard 100 feet from a school, LARGE deck with pool, separate 10x15 concrete pad, all NEW inside woodwork, NEW remodeled bathroom, NEW kitchen flooring, fenced yard, etc.... When I called to question his work he said he would revisit it and NEVER called me back after repeated calls. 1 star because he blew me off after taking my money. I Recently got my Real Estate license and continuing education into Real Estate Appraisal myself. Mr Jake I will not be recommending you to ANYBODY, wink wink. To bad so sad. Now he will post some BS that he is sorry blah blah blah
